Teacher Beats Female Student To Coma

A female student in Iponri Estate Senior High school, Surulere, Lagos was beaten to stupor on Tuesday by a chemistry teacher identified as Mr Sebastine.

The victim, who is in SS 1, Abigail Chidinma Enyenwa, passed out after she was allegedly whipped by the teacher for insubordination.

Sebastine was later arrested at the school premises the following day by policemen from Iponri Police Station for interrogation over the matter.

It was gathered that Abigail incurred the wrath of her teacher when she allegedly behaved rudely and acted contrary to his instructions during class session on the fateful day.

The Chemistry teacher was said to have asked all students whose parents were not present during the school’s open-day to stand on their feet, an instruction which Abigail allegedly ignored.

She reportedly disregarded the teacher’s instruction and sat down while others stood up thereby infuriating the teacher who in turn called her out, gave her some strokes of the cane for her action.

According to a source the student, Abigail passed-out in the process and commotion started afterwards.

She regained consciousness minutes later when some packs of sachet water were poured on her by her classmates and her frightened teacher who initially thought she was pretending.

The matter was said to have been reported at Iponri Police Station by the girl’s parents while Sebastine was arrested the following day.

The school Principal, Mrs Anyah prevented the police from taking the teacher away when they arrived at the school to effect his arrest.

The teacher and Principal were unavailable for comments while the Vice Principal of the school denied knowledge of the incident.

On Thursday, the principal was around but denied that the incident happened in the school. “Well, as a civil servant, am not obliged to speak to the media. Besides, I don’t understand what you are talking about. No teacher beats a student to stupor here,” Mrs. Anyah said.

A student who does not want his name mentioned and who claimed to be Abigail’s friend, said,”I’m not in her class and wasn’t in school when it happened. But I heard the story. I asked her and she told me what happened....like our page on facebook abroko zone..

Tonto Dikeh Denies Smoking ''Igbo'' For Fear Of Going To Jail

Many people say they know that actress Tonto Dikes takes "joint", and it's not necessarily a bad thing if not that our authorities in Nigeria are yet to legalize/regulate marijuana and the fact that it was promoted through her personal page on the instagram social platform.

A fan wrote those words with herbs on my birthday on instagram, and I replied: “Thank you #teampoko”. Now how does someone else’s action become my crime? If I said those words ('Mi smoke gaja mi smoke weed while my hatez smoke ma gossip' ) I will stand by them but I didn’t, and just because it is convenient for people to believe the lies still doesn’t make it the truth. The whole thing is falsified by people who just love to have fun at others expense.

Let’s put some thought to some of the things we write. Don’t do cut-and-paste. The original pictures are there to see; but no! That is too boring to be the truth. I wouldn’t know where and why the story was all over. Maybe we need to ask those who started it.

Could be it that you dressed in a way that made your boobs look bigger or something?
I would not know, but I guess I dress appropriately. I am not expected to wear Iro and Buba to a night club, so I don’t know where the story came from. I don’t know why people enjoy putting others down and I think we should cultivate the habit of celebrating ourselves. We should celebrate good things in other people and stop digging what is not meant to be dug.

I try to live my normal life. I try to remain myself . I try not to let my freedom be taken away from me. If I feel like eating Amala at a buketaria, I walk in and I eat. One million people could stare at me and that is because they want to stare; what I want to do is eat. If I feel like buying corn on the roadside, I park and I buy. I try as much as possible not to let fame get into my head and I try to live a normal life.

Are you not thinking of marriage at your age?
Like I have always said and believed, marriage is not a must for me. Everybody wants to get married but everybody is not meant to be married. There are people who are not meant to be married but they forced themselves into marriage , because a brother or sister is married. You discover that you opt out in a few months and divorced. Why did you get married in the first place knowing you are not meant to be married? Firstly, I think you should understand your nature. That said, I wouldn’t say expect the marriage by next week or next year and it also does not mean I can not call you in the evening that I am not married. What’s most important is finding a great person. You could fall in love with the person but it’s about finding someone that you are compatible with , someone you could cohabitate together, someone you could stay with and be happy together.

Are you searching for the right person?
I am not searching for the right person, I am in a relationship with a great man. It does not mean that we will be married tomorrow or we cannot get married today. That is not what matters to me. Marriage is the last thing, what matters is being happy together. He’s happy with me and I am happy with him, so, that’s fantastic and fine.

For how long would you want to have the cards open?
Forever! I think one should live a life of being open. I think life is too short to say I am going to love you forever when you don’t know what happens tomorrow. Why don’t you leave it open?..like page on facebook abroko zone.

My real name is Dona Adjah and my stage name is Dona Diva. I’m from the Urhobo speaking part of Delta State. I am into music and fashion.

The single I initially dropped was Shut Up. I did it because of people who tried to run me down. I am saying Shut Up to these negative people because I know you can achieve anything as long as you believe in your dreams, in yourself and in God.  The new single is New Gaga; I am dropping its video any time soon. It’s all about music and dance. The message is, just enjoy the music, feel the rhythm and let go off your sorrows.
Could we say you’re not married because you’re distracted by the loads of rich guys hanging around you? Do you believe in love?
Love does exist. I don’t know whether it is true love but it does exist. But the fact that I mingle with rich boys doesn’t mean I wouldn’t know who to choose when the time comes. I can’t replace love with material things or riches.
Isn’t your boyfriend scared you might dump him for a richer guy?
I don’t know how he feels but he supports my career.
Isn’t he sometimes worried?
Yes, sometimes I see it in him but he supports me.

Watermelon: The New SéX Drug For Men

Bad Governance to Blame for Boko Haram - Obama (VIDEO)

Answering questions from journalists and young Africans in Soweto, President Barak Obama pointed to the importance of education for the prosperity of countries, as well as blamed bad governance for Boko Haram.

Mr Obama said “in terms of human capital and young people, I think the greatest investment any country can make, not just an African country, is educating it’s youth and providing them with the skill to compete in a highly technological, advanced world economy”.
“Countries that do not do that well will not succeed”, he added.

He noted that countries with limited skill will have “problems” in drawing international businesses. “This is a problem in the United State and not just a problem in Africa.”

President Obama also stated that the U.S. is willing to collaborate with Nigeria to train teachers and incorporate technology in the education system. “Across board we are having a rethink in education and work force training. And one of the things we want to do is to partner with a country like Nigeria and identify ways that we can provide direct value added, whether it is in helping to train teachers or helping to incorporate technology into the education process”

Mr Obama said they have plans to work with all African countries to empower the youths depending on the plan of the countries. “There are some excellent plans that sometimes we are doing country by country depending on the country plan. But this is a scenario where I would like to get input from young people in terms of what they think will work”.

Addressing Global Terrorist Cells,  Barak Obama commended US government for making a considerable effort in tackling insecurity and curbing terror with the death of Osama Bin Laden but was quick to recognize the existence of Boko Haram in Nigeria.

“There is no doubt in the progress we have made in dealing with some extremist groups, for example core Al Qaida and Bin Laden” stressing that “they have been greatly diminished”. "What is also true is that in some ways the problem has also metastasized, we have more regional terrorist organisations like Boko Haram in Nigeria espousing an extremist ideology, showing no regard for human life”, he added.

Mr Obama admitted that in absence of a transnational capacity like the other organisations “they are doing great harm in Africa and in the Middle East and in South Asia”.

He also blamed the upsurge of terrorist groups on the fact that “countries are not delivering for their people and where there sources of conflict and underlining frustrations that have not been adequately dealt with”

President Obama said that to hold back such uprisings, “we have to build institutions a lot of what we talked about in terms of responsiveness, governance and democracy. Those things become defence mechanisms against terrorism, they are the most important defence against terrorism” he said.

He however ruled out military solutions in tackling terrorism but advocated that governments “give people opportunity, education and resolve conflicts through regular democratic processes, the less likely they are to take root”

Barak Obama charged the African Union to send peace keeping missions to countries that are likely to have such terrorist cells come up and nip them in the bud before they cause harm, adding that “we can provide advice, training and in some cases equipment”.

He alsp noted that America will like to stand back and sell iPads and planes than remain as a global police, he however warned that America will not “stand by and watch while our embassies are being attacked our people are in vulnerable situations”.

Mr. President then also announced the Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, the new flagship program of the President.

The program is to bring more than 500 young African leaders to the United States starting from 2014.

Washington Fellows will primary be between 25 and 35 years old, have proven track record of leadership in a public, private or civic organization, and demonstrate a strong commitment to contributing their skills and talents to building and serving their communities.

Breaking: Former Super Eagles star, Thompson Oliha, Is dead

Former Super Eagles midfielder, Thompson Oliha, is dead. Oliha who was born in October 1968 in Benin City, Nigeria, died in the early hours of Sunday.

Until his death, Oliha was one of the coaches at the Kwara State Football Academy in Ilorin. Sam Elijah, former teammate and colleague at Kwara Academy, confirmed Oliha’s death to PREMIUM TIMES in a telephone chat.

A retired Nigerian midfielder, Oliha played for clubs in Africa and Europe during a career marred by injury. He played for Bendel Insurance (1985-1987), Iwuanyanwu Nationale (1988-1991), Africa Sports (1992-1993), Maccabi Ironi Ashdod F.C. (1993-1994) and Antalyaspor (1994-1995).

As a player, he was known for his powerful shots and abilities in the air. Oliha retired at the age of 27, as a result of a serious knee injury.

One of the wishes of Oliha before his death was for the federal government to fulfil the promise of a house General Sani Abacha promised the Super Eagles for winning the Tunisia 1994 Nations Cup.

Sadly, he did not see that come true in his life time. Oliha becomes the third player to die among the much celebrated Nigeria 1994 squad, joining Uche Okafor and Rashidi Yekini in the great beyond.

I’ll marry my husband again and again – Mercy Johnson

Mercy Johnson is a well known Nollywood star in Nigeria, nay Africa. After taking a break from the klieg lights to get married and have her baby, she’s now ready for a new project – the Mercy Johnson Foundation.

See excerpts of her recent interview with a national newspaper, Sun.

You were at OJB’s house to see him and donate money, now you are here to donate to the Boys Reform Home in Lagos. What’s the idea?

No idea, we are just promoting the ideals of Mercy Johnson Foundation.  The idea is to identify the needs, evaluate and help in our own little way. All fingers are not equal; those in position to help should do so without hesitation. You will be hearing a lot about Mercy Johnson Foundation from now on. We have put our house in order and now ready to help those we can. I strongly believe that as stars we should live beyond the euphoria of stardom and the moment.  We will not always be here, what happens if you look back and realise you could do a lot to make the world better when you had the spotlight and you didn’t? I want to live beyond the moment.

Why the reform homes in Lagos?

I know I’m not glamorous to a lot of people, but we must know that if we do charitable things for publicity alone, we defeat the purpose. We need to find ways to reform young boys and girls otherwise they will make life uncomfortable for the children of the privileged. At this point, I must commend the government of Lagos State for making efforts at reforming the kids. We are looking at what we can do with the state to help make the future of these children better.

Motherhood seems to have changed you…

Yes, motherhood changes women. You begin to see yourself as a co-creator. You begin to see yourself as a protector. Few days ago, I was feeding Purity and she started dragging the bottle with me with the hot water in it. She pushed the bottle, I had to quickly push her away from the water and let it pour on my arm instead. That’s the kind of protection I am talking about. I think it will also make you feel more responsible for other children as well. You begin to see them as children of some other mothers. You have a sense of responsibility to want to protect them as well.

How are you coping with your husband and the baby?

There’s nothing like coping, he’s making my job easier. He dots on her. He carries her, feeds and does everything for her such that she misses him when he’s not around.  You won’t believe she sleeps on his chest every night. He understands whatever adjustment I need to make when it comes to the baby. He’s a loving father?

What about being a loving husband?

Come on now, you know that Sam. He’s the best thing that happened to me. People usually say men are not reliable, in the case of my husband he’s a blessing. It’s obvious we are his priority.

So, your step of faith is paying off?

Yes. I am not saying its perfect, but this is close to perfection. If this is what it feels to be married, I want to marry my husband again and again.

How come you took a break and still returned as number one in Nollywood?

There’s nothing like number one in Nollywood.  We are all doing our jobs; it’s just that some people are busier than others. I’m glad of what God has given me.

What should we expect from you career-wise?

I’m trying to be more selective with what I do. If the script is not good, I don’t want to do it. Our market is getting core aware and advanced as the day goes by.

How come you are not an ambassador of any brand yet?

We are having discussion with a couple of brands, when we agree with the terms, you will hear from us. However, I need to quickly point out that Mercy Johnson is a blend of youth and family brand. We just can’t stand and represent any brand. If it’s not representing the youths, which is our major consistency or the family, we will not be favourably disposed to it. I can’t at this point be ‘hawking’ cleavages in the name of promoting brand.  Things have changed; this is the beginning of a new era for me...follow us on twitter @abroko zone...

EXPOSED!!! Michael Jackson Spent $35 million To Cover Up Child Molestation Cases

Michael Jackson spent nearly $35 million in a desperate bid to cover up his crimes after he molested at least 24 boys, according to an explosive report published Saturday.
London’s Sunday People tabloid says it obtained “secret FBI files” full of stomach-churning details about the late King of Pop’s seamy past.
Jackson allegedly was once caught groping a famous child star and watching pôrnographic films while molesting another boy.
He allegedly fondled a third boy in his private theater as the victim’s clueless mother sat only a few rows away, according to the purported FBI files.

Jordan Chandler (right) and his family received $20 million to keep his inappropriate relationship with the pop star quiet, according to the Sunday People report.

The documents – identified as case numbers CADCE MJ-02463 and CR 01046 — were apparently never turned over to prosecutors in the sensational 2005 trial that cleared Jackson of molestation charges.
In a twist, the bombshell files dating to 1989 were assembled by private eye Anthony Pellicano, who Jackson hired to make sure the skeletons in his closet stayed out of the spotlight.
Pellicano is now in prison, serving a 15-year sentence for racketeering and wiretapping in an unrelated case — but one of his ex-associates opened up to Sunday People. “I was hired by him to find out where the fires needed putting out and, in this case, where allegations would be coming from,” the unidentified sleuth said.

Private detective Anthony Pellicano was supposedly hired by Michael Jackson to collect and bury the musician's secrets. Pellicano is currently in prison on unrelated racketeering and wiretapping charges.

“But I have never worked on a case with as many potential claimants as the Jackson case.”
The Daily News obtained FBI files on Jackson in 2009 under the Freedom of Information Act. Those files contained no mention of the sordid documents obtained by Sunday People. Calls to the FBI on Saturday went unreturned.
The Pellicano files identify a total of 17 boys — including five child actors and two dancers — that Jackson is said to have preyed upon.

Though he denied it to the grave, a shocking report in Sunday People portrays Michael Jackson as a serial molester and child pôrn addict.

Jackson’s other alleged victims include a European boy and the sons of a screenwriter. At least three boys got hush money, the Pellicano investigator said.
The family of one of them, a well-known young actor, received nearly $600,000 “to refrain from any and all contact with media and communications, newspapers, television, radio, film and books,” the newspaper reported.

The Neverland Ranch was where Wade Robson alleges he was molested by Michael Jackson.

1) 2face Idibia- 2Face was already a known star as a member of the 90’s/00’s R and B group The Plantashun Boyz. 2Face’s star power in the group was so great that everyone knew it was a matter of time before he went solo. In 2004, 2face struck out and went solo.

He sought the production prowess of OJB Jezreel who was the hottest music producer in the country at the time for his highly anticipated debut album. For months they slaved on songs that would end up on 2Face’s instant classic solo debut album Face 2 Face. The album catapulted 2Face into superstardom. In 2007, 2Face hooked up with OJB Jezreel again. The huge success of his sophomore Grass 2 Grace proved that you never change a winning formula. 2Face’s first two albums are widely regarded as his best LPs in his rich discography.

2) Rugged Man- Rugged Man had been lurking in the underground scene for years. Tired of the mainstream rap music he heard on radio courtesy of Eedris Abdulkareem and Rasqie he went to OJB’s Silver Point Studios to record the classic ‘Ehen’ diss track featuring Nomoreloss. The song spread like wild fire and galvanized the underground rap community.

Rugged Man wasn’t through with the diss tracks. ‘Peace or War’ and ‘Big Bros’ completed his diss trilogy aimed at wack rappers, their fans and record labels that pushed them. Thanks to OJB’s production, Rugged Man became the new champion of rap music in Nigeria. He released his debut album 2 years after ‘Ehen’- 2004. Thy Album Come featured production from OJB and other Silver Point associate producers. Thy Album Come is perceived as one of the most influential rap LPs in Nigerian rap history.

3)D’Banj- Most people think Dapo Oyebanjo’s music career started when he met JJC Skillz in London. D’Banj’s entrance into the music game goes a bit farther than that. In 2002, D’Banj recorded his first song ‘Kiss Me Again’ featuring Rugged Man. The song was produced by Jigga (OJB’s alias).

The song wasn’t a hit but it got a few spins on local radio. Buoyed by the little positive response the song got, D’Banj moved to the UK to pursue his dreams. He came back 2 years later with an unknown producer who would take over from OJB Jezreel. His name is Don Jazzy.

Durella- By 2008, D’Banj who started his career with OJB Jezreel had become a superstar. An unknown act named Durella whose style was similar to D’Banj’s knocked on OJB’s door in search of a hit.

OJB Jezreel blessed him with ‘Wiskolo Wiska’ a hard hitting club track. The song became so popular that people thought it was D’Banj who sang the song. Thanks to OJB’s production Durella had made a name for himself. Durella’s career has had more downs than up but a hit like ‘Wiskolo Wiska’ is a sparkling gem in his scattered discography.

Wizkid- If a biopic of Wizkid’s music life comes out, the flick would most likely start with him as a young thin boy watching stars troop in and out of OJB’s famed Silver Point studios.

Years before Wizkid scored his first hit with DJ Klem in the Knight House studio; he was a studio rat in OJB’s studio.
Wizkid who was barely in his teens was itching to record songs with OJB as his producer. Most times OJB told him to wait and watch. Wizkid’s recalls that while he was sitting in the studio waiting for his turn he learnt a lot of valuable lessons watching the likes of 2Face and Rugged Man record. It is most likely that Wizkid never released any of his OJB produced songs but the experience he gained chilling in the studio must have helped him become the star boy he is today.

OMG!!! Prôstitutes assault sanitation officials in Ondo

Two Security officials attached to the Ondo State Environmental Task Force for the monthly sanitation exercise yesterday received the beating of their lives when prôstitutes from a brothel in the capital city, Akure, descended on them.
The State Commissioner for Environment in the state, Barrister Sola Ebiseni has ordered the seal off of the hotel. The two security officials, who sustained various degrees of injuries, were on duty to monitor the monthly exercise when the prôstitutes, who failed to observe the monthly exercise, ordered them out of their premises.
Ebiseeni, who led the task force team, had set out as early as 8am to ensure strict compliance with the monthly environmental exercise.
The commissioner and his team visited some towns and villages while some arrests were made while pleading with the people to comply with the environmental law.
The monitoring exercise however, turned sour when the team got to Inner Circle Hotel at Oke padi off Lao street in Akure, the state capital, when they met the prôstitutes and their customers drinking and dancing.
The task force called on the manager of the brothel to call the prôstitutes and their customers to order by observing the sanitation exercise but the prôstitute and their customers descended on the two officials saying the officials are disturbing them.
One of the officials while speaking with our correspondent said some of the people around the compound, who were ready to comply with their order, were prevented by the prôstitutes.
The official said further that the prôstitute started to beat them when they tried to arrest them and their customers and the Civil Defence officials and one of the security personnel attached to the task force were equally beaten mercilessly by the prôstitutes and their clients.
A female Civil Defence officer had her uniform torn into shreds by the irate women of easy virtue and it took the intervention of additional security men comprising of policemen, State Security Service official and Civil Defence to bring the situation under control.
When the commissioner visited the scene, he ordered the hotel premises to be sealed off and asked the prôstitutes and their clients to be arrested and taken to police station for interrogation. He said the offenders aside from facing environmental court would also be prosecuted for assault on government officials
Speaking at the end of this month’s edition of the environmental exercise, Ebiseeni said 22 persons caught violating environmental law were arrested and taken to court immediately...

There has been some issues surrounding “Sho lee” singer Sean Tizzle and Sound Sultan, these issues arose as a result of Sean Tizzle‘s switch from Sound Sultan‘s music label Naija Ninjas to D’tunes‘ label Difference Entertainment.
Sound Sultan claims he wrote “Sho Lee” while he was hosting his“MyTop10″ edition on Kennis Music Channel. If this is true then more credit should be given to songwriters for their involvement in any song.  This right here is a pretty bad look for the Nigerian industry...

Tonto Dikeh May Go To Jail For Smoking Indian Hemp; She Cries That People Hate Her

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA has reacted to the photos of Indian Hemp posted by Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh, on the social media, boasting that “I smoke ganja”.
Disclosing that Tonto Dikeh may spend the next 15 years in prison for daring to smoke Igbo and expose it, the NDLEA spokesman, Mitchell Ofoyeju said:

“Our attention has been drawn to the post quite frankly and I can tell you that action will be taken on it. The law is clear and NDLEA has been very clear on the issue. No one is permitted to sell, use, cultivate or encourage the use of Indian hemp in Nigeria. The weed is one of the banned narcotics in the country.”

To had on Friday posted photographs of a wrap of hemp and grains of the weed formed into the letters, ‘Happy birthday POKO.’
She also posted a photograph of herself and added the inscription, ‘Mi smoke ganja mi smoke weed…’ Her picture was also close-up of her face that seemed to depict her in a high state.
Mr. Mitchell Ofoyeju further stated that Tonto Dike’s case have already been referred to the appropriate department of the agency for investigation and prosecution.

“NDLEA Act Section 14 (b) states that any person who conspires with, aids, abets, counsels, attempts to commit or is an accessory to any act or offence referred to in this act shall be guilty of an offence under this act and liable on conviction to be sentenced to imprisonment for a term not less than 15 years and not exceeding 25 years,” he said.
Possibly reacting to the criticism she has attracted to herself, Tonto Dike wrote on Instagram:

“no 1 kwz my struggle, al they see is Tonto diz, Tonto dat!!!! nt kwin hw hard it hurt deep down to loose ur mom at d age of 3, n it hurt d most nt to hav her enjoy d fruit of her child birth, Mom i missed u alot #POKO”
