Manchester City get Steau in Champions league playoff

Pep Guardiola's first experience of a playoff match in this competition will be in Romania, while Roma face Porto and Villarreal tackle Monaco 

Manchester City have been paired with Steaua Bucharest during Friday’s Champions League play-off draw in Nyon.

The Premier League side made it to the semi-finals last term, where eventual winners Real Madrid proved to be too strong, and Pep Guardiola's men will now have to deal with the Romanian side if they are to join Leicester City, Arsenal and Tottenham in the group stages.

Serie A outfit Roma will take on Porto, while Bundesliga representatives Borussia Monchengladbach face Young Boys.

Villarreal will have to see off Monaco if they are to become the fifth LaLiga side in the group stages, with Ajax versus Rostov the fifth tie in the league route.

Celtic, meanwhile, meet Hapoel Be'er-Sheva in the champions route after seeing off Lincoln Red Imps and Astana in the previous two rounds.

The first legs will be played on August 16 and 17, with the returns taking place a week later on August 23 and 24.

The 10 winners of the play-offs join the 22 automatic entrants in the group stage, with that draw scheduled for Thursday August 25 in Monaco.

BREAKING NEWS: Niger Delta group attacks Rivers, blows Bera pipeline,

-One of the Niger Delta militants group takes responsibility for the attack on the pipeline in Rivers state

The Militants have threatened to cease attacks if President Buhari does not meet their demands

Niger Delta Justice Defence Group(NDJDG) have attacked Oil pipelines in Bera,Gokana local government area of Rivers state on the early hours of August 4,Thursday

The group revealed about this in a statement

The militants said that this is in continuation of their warning to Government of Muhammadu Buhari to immediately look into their demand and attend to them..

The statement reads" We are responsible for the vandalisation of Oil pipelines in Bera Gokana local governent area of Rivers state last night , by 1:30am.

"Previously we blew up pipelines in Gio-tai L.G.A and B-Dere in Gokana L.G.A and issued warning to oil companies to vacate our region and suspend all oil explorations in the region until our demands are met.

"Till now,the FG is still playing politics with the Ogoni cleanup while the people suffer everyday from enviromental degardation.We will continue our actions until the welfare and plight of our people is given utmost attention by the Muhammadu Buhari led FG.

This time around we shall spread our tentacles and expand the scope of our operation to Onne Wharf in Rvers State and other parts of the country."

The NDJDG earlier liisted five demand to the government of President Buhari . 

The militants asked to be allowed to control the oil output in the region and to immortalize activists who died during the struggle for better life for the Niger Delta region among others.

Earlier today,August 4,the Niger Delta Avengers,challenged the Nigerian army to share the photos of the killed militants.

The Avengers claimed that President Buhari cant intimidate them...

Popular comic Yoruba actress, Eniola Badmus, says she is still very single but not searching.

Kidnappers demand 17million naira ransom for kidnapped UNIBEN Nurses

Kidanappers of two nurses at the university of benin teaching hospital (UBTH),have demanded Seventeen million naira(#17000000) ransom payment for the two nurses regarding their release.

The branch Chairman of the Nigerian Association for Nurses and Midwives(NANNM),Austin Osigbeme,confirmed the development to journalists in Benin.

The Nurses Mrs Osemelu Lydia and Ovbiosu Bose,both said to be nursing mothers,were abducted last week at Oluku,in Egor Local Government Area of Edo State on their way home,after picking their children from School.

According to Osigbeme,the kidnappers contacted family memebers and demande 15million and 2million for their release.

Osigbeme who disclosed that family members of the victims have been in pain since their abduction,disclosed that the kidnappers have started reducing the ransom money demanded.

"They have not released them.They are asking for ransom.They started with N15million and N2million but have started beating it down by N1million.
'But these are Poor people who have no money to pay and thats why we are having this delay.

"They (Families) have been apprehensive and having feelings of uncertainty,not sure of what is happening to their wives and sisters,"He said

Osigbeme further explained that the proposed strike action by nurses has been shelved,"adding we will not allow people force us to behave in the way they want us to behave."
