Cristofi gives Cyprus win over Bosnia

Striker Dimitris Cristofi scored twice against the run of play to give unfancied Cyprus a smash-and-grab 2-1 win at Bosnia, who missed a late penalty in their Euro 2016 Group B qualifier on Tuesday.
The result was a disappointing start as captain for Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko after he took over the armband from Emir Spahic, who retired from international football following the 2014 World Cup.
Bosnia seemed to be cruising after a Vedad Ibisevic header gave them an early lead, as the home team dominated and spurned several chances in front of a passionate home crowd in Zenica.
Those near misses cost Bosnia dearly as Cristofi beat the home team's keeper Asmir Begovic when he headed home an inviting cross from the left on the stroke of halftime.
Roared on by their fans, Bosnia laid siege to the Cyprus defence after the break but were again caught out at the other end, as Cristofi raced clear of Ermin Bicakcic and beat the advancing Begovic with a cool finish.
Bosnia wasted a golden opportunity to equalise in the 89th minute when Miralem Pjanic's weak penalty kick was saved by Antonis Giorgallides after Dzeko, who was booked several minutes earlier for dissent, was brought down.
"We didn't deserve to win because we sat back on our 1-0 lead when we should have gone for the second," Bosnia coach Safet Susic told the country's BHT television.
"We didn't create too many clear-cut chances in the second half and having missed a late penalty, we can only congratulate Cyprus."
Dzeko added: "We started well but were rattled after conceding the equaliser out of the blue. It wasn't our night and we may rue this defeat because tougher games are coming our way."..

Italy tame toothless Norway with win

Simone Zaza and Leonardo Bonucci were on target as Italy eased to a 2-0 win in their opening Euro 2016 qualifying Group H fixture away to Norway in Oslo on Tuesday.
Striker Zaza, winning just his second cap, opened the scoring with a deflected shot in the 16th minute before defender Bonucci headed home just after the hour mark as the Azzurri marked Antonio Conte's first competitive game as coach with a victory to launch their bid to reach the European Championship finals in France.
It was a functional performance against a home side who were enthusiastic but lacked quality in the final third, and Italy extended their run without defeat in qualifiers to 41 matches stretching back eight years.
"In nine days we have already done great things," Conte, whose reign began with a 2-0 friendly win against the Netherlands last Thursday, told Rai 1 after the game.
"It will not be easy for anyone to come and play in Norway. And I don't remember (goalkeeper Gianluigi) Buffon getting his gloves dirty, while we created numerous chances."
Conte's starting line-up showed six changes to the team that lost 1-0 to Uruguay at the World Cup in June in Cesare Prandelli's last game at the helm, with Sassuolo striker Zaza taking advantage of the absence due to suspension of Mario Balotelli to line up in attack.
And it was the 23-year-old who silenced the packed crowd at the Ullevaal Stadion with the goal that put Italy ahead and broke his scoring duck for his country.
A Mattia De Sciglio ball from the left flank found Zaza, and with the Norwegian defence failing to produce a challenge, he worked his way into the box before sending in a left-foot shot that took a significant deflection off Havard Nordtveit to beat goalkeeper Orjan Nyland at his near post.
Norway, who are attempting to qualify for a major tournament for the first time since Euro 2000, pushed their visitors back for a spell as they sought to draw level, although the closest they came was when captain Per Ciljan Skjelbred fed Joshua King, but the Blackburn Rovers striker flashed a shot over from a tight angle.
Nyland then beat away a fizzing Emanuele Giaccherini strike as Norway restricted Italy's lead to a single goal going into the interval, but a Conte substitution led to the away side doubling their advantage in the 62nd minute.
The former Juventus coach took off right wing-back Matteo Darmian, sending on Manuel Pasqual in his place, and the Fiorentina player needed less than a minute to whip in a glorious cross from the left that was headed home at the back post by the unmarked Bonucci.
There was no way back for Norway after that, and Italy might even have increased their lead late on, but Zaza rattled the bar after being played through by strike partner Ciro Immobile.
"It has been a dream week for me," said Zaza. "Now my objective is to keep my place in the team. The work of a striker is tiring, but if you want to play in this side you need to run."
It was the perfect start to the qualifying campaign for Italy, and one that sets them up nicely for a double-header at home to Azerbaijan and away to Malta next month before a stiffer test in Croatia in November.
Per-Mathias Hogmo's Norway, meanwhile, will hope to bounce back when they face Malta and Bulgaria next month....

Bale double gets Wales out of trouble

Real Madrid star Gareth Bale's double saved Wales's blushes as they came from 1-0 down to beat minnows Andorra 2-1 in their opening Euro 2016 qualifier on Tuesday.
Andorra – who had not won in 51 competitive fixtures since beating Macedonia in October 2004 – had taken a shock lead early in the qualifying Group B encounter in Andorra la Vella as Ildefons Lima converted a sixth-minute penalty after Neil Taylor pulled back Ivan Lorenzo.
It was Lima's eighth international goal and ended an Andorran goal drought in competitive matches stretching back 18 games.
The Welsh found it difficult coping with the physical game of their hosts but Bale finally got them on level terms with a header in the 22nd minute.
However, if the Welsh fans thought that would ease their side's nerves and a goal glut would ensue they were to be disappointed as they failed to convert their chances.
Manager Chris Coleman was booed off at halftime by the 1500 or so Welsh supporters who had travelled to the Pyrenees for the game and with 10 minutes remaining and the sides all square there was every chance of a repeat performance at the final whistle.
Bale, though, spared him that as he scored with a superb free-kick to give the visitors a scarcely deserved victory.
The hardly inauspicious start to their campaign doesn't augur well with a group consisting of World Cup quarter-finalists Belgium, Israel, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Cyprus, who beat the Bosnians 2-1 away on Tuesday...

Modric scores as Croatia sink Malta

Goals by birthday boy Luka Modric and emerging 23-year-old striker Andrej Kramaric gave Croatia a 2-0 home win over Malta in a Euro 2016 Group H qualifier on Tuesday.
Playmaker Modric, who turned 29, broke the deadlock with a sizzling low shot in the 46th minute and second-half substitute Kramaric capped a fine individual performance with a late goal on his competitive debut.
Croatia's 4-2-3-1 formation looked toothless in the opening half and they failed to create a single chance, even after Malta defender Steve Borg was sent off in the 31st minute for striking lone forward Mario Mandzukic off the ball.
Coach Niko Kovac introduced robust striker Nikica Jelavic for central midfielder Mateo Kovacic at halftime to add bite up front and the substitution paid off immediately after the break.
Modric, making his 80th international appearance, took a half-cleared cross in his stride and unleashed a scorcher through a packed penalty area into the far corner of the net from 25 metres.
Youthful midfielder Alen Halilovic, brought in along with Kramaric after Croatia's group-stage exit in the 2014 World Cup, also went close as the home team upped the tempo.
The skilful Kramaric rattled the crossbar after showing nice footwork in the 70th minute before he sealed victory 11 minutes later with a calm finish after good work by Jelavic and Ivan Rakitic.
"I am overjoyed to have taken three points from this game after a poor first half," Kovac told Croatian television.
"The sending-off of Borg played into our hands and after moving up a gear in the second half with numerical advantage, we were able to break Malta down although they defended very well throughout the match.
"We have some young players who are talented but are yet to gel with the experienced players in this squad and that will take some time," added Kovac...

Ghanaian Actress, Nadia Buari has an Interesting Story the world

Ghanaian actress and actor Jim Iyke’s lover, Nadia Buari shared a story on how many compete with others and at the end of the day, miss their own destined path in life. She gave a typical example of her experience while jogging.
“I was jogging one day and I noticed a person in front of me, about 1/4 of mile. I could tell he was running a little slower than me and I thought, good, I shall try to catch him. I had about a mile to go my path before i needed to turn off. So I started running faster and faster. Every block, I was gaining on him just a little bit. After just a few minutes I was only about 100 yards behind him, so I really picked up the pace and pushed myself. U would have thought I was running in the last leg of London Olympic competition. I was determined to catch him. Finally, I did it! I caught and passed him by”
She said she felt good passing him by, but she didn’t realize she had passed missed her way “On the inside I felt so good. “I beat him” of course, he didn’t even know we were racing. After I passed him, I realized I had been so focused on competing against him that I had missed my turn. I had gone nearly six blocks past it. I had to turn around and go all back. Isn’t that what happens in life when we focus on competing with co- workers, neighbors, friends, family, trying to outdo them or trying to prove that we are more successful or more important? We spend our time and energy running after them and we miss out on our own paths to our God given destinies”
“The problem with unhealthy competition is that it’s a never ending cycle. There will always be somebody ahead of you, someone with better job, nicer car, more money in the bank, more education, a prettier wife, a more handsome husband, better behaved children, etc. But realize that “you can be the best that you can be, you are not competing with no one.”
The actress said some people often pay attention to the way some other persons look, what they wear or what they have without figuring out what God has for them “Some people are insecure because they pay too much attention to what others are doing, where others are going, wearing & driving. Take what God has given you, the height, weight & personality. Dress well & wear it proudly! You will be blessed by it. Stays focused and live a healthy life. There’s no competition in DESTINY.. Run your own RACE and wish others WELL” she said...

Sex Before Marriage Is The Best - Nollywood Actress

Nollywood fast rising actress, Oluwaseyi Edun who became known by the title of her debut movie, Eja Nla has expressed her take on s ex before marriage.

Oluwaseyi Edun
The Nollywood actress who came into the Yoruba acting scene in 2011 with the help of her sister who is a scriptwriter in the Yoruba genre of the nation’s film industry has gained lots of recognition since then.
However, she was interviewed few days ago on the Potpourri Segment on Vanguard and when she was told to share her opinion about s ex before marriage, she asserted that s ex before marriage is the best. She also said practising s ex  before marriage reduces adultery.
The actress who publicly expressed her love for Popular Nigerian hip-hop singer, D’banj, hence, her reason for picking up ‘Eja Nla’ as a stage/pseudo name, also made it known that she cannot quit her acting career for her relationship if need arises as her man should be willing to consider her passion.
The screen diva made it known that S ex before marriage makes the two people involved to know their weaknesses and work on it before getting into the lifelong commitment called marriage. Here is the excerpt from the interview below:
”I think it’s an individual thing. Once you are an adult and you think you are ready, go for it. Personally, I think s ex before marriage is good. Because it will make you know your partner well before going into marriage. So if there is anything you are not comfortable with, you have an ample time to correct it before actually going into the lifetime contract of marriage. Doing it before marriage also reduces adultery and fornication.  It is also a good way of studying your partner before you get committed to him or her.”
It would be recalled that just recently, Marriage and S ex Therapist, Funmi Akingbade, in a recent interview with made it known that Nigerian men are never patient when it comes to s ex, as they see foreplay and other activities before intercourse as a waste of time.

Next to Genevieve,Chidinma is always on every male celeb's crush list. She had everyone talking after a photo of them  acting all loved up on a plane surfaced. In a new interview she debunked rumours of a proposal saying it was just a publicity stunt....
It was all planned out by Vector and I. One of the rumours was a picture of myself and Phyno which we took and uploaded on instagram. Then people started talking...

England win in Switzerland 2-0...

Danny Welbeck's shin made the difference as England won 2-0 away to Switzerland in an evenly balanced Euro 2016 qualifier, giving new Swiss coach Vladimir Petkovic a losing start on Monday.
Welbeck met Raheem Stirling's low cross in his stride and the ball flew into the net off his shin after Wayne Rooney broke up a Swiss move in midfield in the 58th minute.
Welbeck then made England's opening Group E game safe when he produced the finishing touch to a counter-attack as the Swiss pressed for an equaliser.
It was Switzerland's first home defeat in a competitive international since they lost to the same opponents four years ago in the Euro 2012 qualifiers.
England's first goal came shortly after goalkeeper Joe Hart made a superb save to keep out Haris Seferovic's half-volley following one of the few fluid Swiss moves of the game.
Switzerland started with eight of the team who lost 1-0 to Argentina in the World Cup round of 16, their last match under Petkovic's predecessor Ottmar Hitzfeld.
Seferovic had their best first half effort when his shot was saved by Hart's outstretched leg after England's Phil Jones gave the ball away to Xherdan Shaqiri on the edge of the area.
Defender Jones then saw a header brilliantly turned away by Yann Sommer just before halftime.
Switzerland, playing in front of a subdued crowd at St Jakob-Park, were denied an equaliser when Josip Drmic broke through the england defence and rounded Hart only to see his effort cleared off the line by Gary Cahill...
