Men
of the Ebonyi State Police Command, yesterday, said it had arrested six
suspects in connection with the murder of one Chikaudili Okrouga, 30,
at Okposi Development Centre in Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi
State.
Ebonyi
State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Sylvester Igbo, said the
suspects were arrested on April 30, 2013, two days after the murder,
adding that the deceased was allegedly buried after being murdered.
He
explained that the command was able to establish the spot where the
deceased was buried in a village in Okposi community, adding that
efforts were on to exhume the corpse for a post-mortem analysis.
“The
suspects allegedly buried the deceased in a bush in the village and the
spot has been discovered. It was alleged that the chief directed youths
of the area to beat up the deceased which eventually led to his death.
“Upon
investigation, the chief said that he ordered the attack on the
deceased because he (Okrouga) was mentally ill. However, we are still
investigating the matter and after that the suspects will be charged to
court.”
The
suspects arrested areChief Okoroafor Onu, 60; Nnamdi Chukwu, 24; Ikenta
Samuel, 38; Nwani Ogo, 68; Nnaemeka Chukwu, 30 and Gabriel Anu, 68.
