Football Association has cancelled next month’s international friendly
against Kenya. According to a letter sent to Kenya Football Federation,
the development is due to the inability of Coach Kwesi Appiah to raise a
strong squad for the assignment.

an after- effect of the change in date of Ghana’s 2014 FIFA World Cup
qualifier against Sudan in Khartoum, the June 1st friendly against Kenya
in Nairobi will no longer hold.

The
date of the World Cup qualifiers has been brought forward by one day to
June 7. The friendly match was expected to serve as a build- up
preparation for both team’s Brazil 2014 World Cup qualifiers against
Sudan and Nigeria, later next month. A Kenya FA official Hussein Terry
disclosed to Goal.com, saying: “We have received a letter from Ghana FA
informing us they cannot be able to honour the match due to the
difficulties they are experiencing in raising a team. “They remain
doubtful especially on the availability of some of their professional
players.” Ghana is due to commence camping on May 30th before flying
over to Nairobi for acclimatization.
