Justin Bieber stopped his concert in Istanbul, Turkey on Thursday night during the Muslim call to prayer.
According
to E! Online, Bieber paused his show at Istanbul's sold-out Technical
University sports arena to allow for audience members to pray (a
practice Muslims observe five times daily). Bieber's gesture was met
with many positive notices on Twitter.
The goodwill Bieber engendered by
pausing the show helped offset some of the trouble he and his entourage
reportedly got into earlier on Thursday at Istanbul’s Sabiha Gökçen
Airport. According to ABC News, Bieber and his crew did not present any
of their travel documents to security officials as they left the
airport. As a result, Bieber was checked by security outside of Sabiha
Gökçen Airport and allowed to go on his way.
Bieber's
current tour has not been without some controversy. His planned show in
Oman was reportedly canceled because the Muslim nation deemed his stage
act too sexy and debauched.
